Born 25 June 1890 in New Windsor Barracks his parents were Henry ELWICK and Gertrude Marion CUBIS
11 August 1905 commenced work for the London & South Western Railway as a junior clerk at Woking for £30 per annum
19 August 1911 married Elizabeth Mary BOYLETT at Guildford Registry Office
9 December 1915 he enlisted at Winchester into the General Service Corps and the next day he was relegated to the Reserves
Posted to the Coldstream Guards 12 August 1918 and demobilized on 17 April 1919
Resumed duty at Surbiton Station on 3 April 1919 and transferred to Brookwood Station on 21 August 1919
His son Robert Harry Herbert ELWICK born 12 December 1920
On 22 February 1922 he went to his work at Brookwood Railway Station as a clerk as normal
The day's takings £100 and he were never seen again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There were 2 Samuel ELWICK's baptised in the same year
I can account for the death of one of them in 1728 but his Will mentions only his brother John ELWICK
I have a Susannah ELWICK, John and Thomas ELWICK who all have a father Samuel
